Gigantic Loss for 2008 reported by AMDIn the midst of economic meltdown, chipmaker AMD had been making hard efforts competing with rival chipmakers. However nothing seems to be helping for AMD, which otherwise is the second largest chipmaker of the world and has gained significant market share in various markets across the world.

This seems quite evident from the company's Q4 2008 and fiscal 2008 earnings reports, which show enormous losses. The margins are lower for AMD and the decline in sales has caused more trouble for the company.

1000th test flight completed by LCA On Thursday, India's Light Combat Aircraft (LCA), Tejas completed the 1000th sortie. This feat is being described as a landmark in the country's aeronautical sector's history by Aeronautical Development Agency.

It was revealed by the ADA sources that the sortie lasted about 30 minutes. Tejas was being flown by the chief test pilot of the National Flight Test Centre, Capt J A Maolankar.

The Tejas program has come a long way since the first flight by the Technology demonstrator-1 on January 4, 2001, which lasted 18 minutes.
