Google removes 21 malicious apps from Android Market

Though its free, users should learn to behave protective while using any open source platform. Recently, it happened with Google Android. Android Police first reported about the 21 apps containing malware.

But by the time alarming news reached Google, over 50,000 users downloaded it. These remained available for downloads for 4 days. These apps have now been removed by Google from Android Market.

According to reports, these apps caused severe harm to phones of users. Their malicious activities left end user frustrated with the security concern of Google for Android apps.

Malicious activities include root exploits like making phone behave abnormal, stealing personal data from phone. Few malicious apps even acted as Trojan horse, inviting other malicious apps to users' phone. Few malicious apps are 'Falling Down,' 'Super Guitar Solo,' 'Super History Eraser,' 'Photo Editor,' and 'Super Ringtone Maker’. The full list is not yet released to media.

But the removal of the apps from the Android market is not the final solution as users' phones have already been infected. Now they have to wait for a patch, download it and resume normal functionality of their phones. This patch is under construction as of now. Developer of these apps used fake and nearly-same name of the popular apps to make them get more number of downloads.
