Google’s St. Patrick’s Day Doodle showed six children presenting Irish stepdance

Google’s St. Patrick’s Day Doodle showed six children presenting Irish stepdanceTo celebrate St. Patrick's Day, Internet search giant Google came up with a special, animated Doodle which presented the traditional Irish stepdance on the Google home page.

The St. Patrick Day Google Doodle showed six children - wearing the six letters of Google's name on their clothes - doing a little riverdance. The six river dancers - one boy and five girls - featuring in the St. Patrick's Day Google Doodle decorously danced away, leaping up and down a bit while performing the Irish step dance.

The Google Doodle dancers, attired in traditional costumes worn by Irish step dancers - danced in unison, including a high-flying jump.

Google's celebration of St. Patrick's Day - which comes around on March 17 every year - appeared to enhance the meaning of the "I'm Feeling Lucky" button just below the six river dancers featuring in the doodle. In addition, the Google Doodle also served as a reminder that it was possible to celebrate St. Patrick's Day without consuming alcohol.

The St. Patrick's Day Google Doodle chiefly celebrated St. Patrick, the fifth-century saint who is the patron saint as well as the national apostle of Ireland. According to a History. com account, St. Patrick is known for bringing Christianity to the Irish people; with his legend having taken on mythic proportions over the years.
