Gujarat BJP activists protest Bukhari’s statement on Modi

Narendra ModiRajkot, June 3 : Muslim activists of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) took out a protest march here today against a statement by Syed Ahmed Bukhari, of Jama Masjid in Delhi calling Gujarat Chief Minister, Narender Modi a terrorist.

Shouting anti-Bukhari slogans the BJP conducted a mock funeral procession of the cleric in Rajkot.

“We have performed a mock operation of Imam's brain, so that next time he refrains from making such statements,” said Ejaj Hussain Bukhari, one of the activists.

Bukhari, had branded Modi, as Gujarat’s chief terrorist at an international conference against terrorism, which was organised by the Jama Masjid United Forum on Sunday.

He also accused Modi of harassing and arresting innocent people in the name of curbing terrorism.

About 2,500 people, mostly Muslims, are estimated to have been beaten, stabbed or burnt to death in the state since 2002 after the Godhra incident.

The Supreme Court has judged that the Modi's Government had looked the other way when innocent people were being killed, and was probably deliberating how to protect the killers. (ANI)
