Hacker Puts Up 1.5 Mln Facebook Accounts For SaleAccording to a media report, a cyberpunk has reportedly put 1.5 million stolen Facebook accounts up for sale on the black market.

Investigators at Internet security company VeriSign iDefense Labs stated that a cyber-terrorist called 'kirllos' had place the login particulars on sale on Russian internet site Carder. su.

Facebook has refused the details saying 'kirllos' was known for making wild claims, the report said.

Facebook representative Barry Schnitt said the company had tried to purchase details from 'kirllos' in its own inquiry but "the cyberpunk was unable to produce anything for our buyer".

iDefense added that the accounts had been bade at rates starting from $25 for 1,000 accounts for accounts having 10 or less friends, the report said.

Accounts with over 10 friends were placed for sale at $45 for 1,000 accounts.

The report quoted Rick Howard, director of iDefense, as saying that the case pointed to a boom in the illicit trading of social networking accounts from Eastern Europe to the US. (With Inputs from Agencies)
