Hansraj Bharadwaj resigns from his post–Says Source

Governor Hansraj Bharadwaj has given his resignation from the post of chairman of International Centre for Alternative Dispute Resolution (ICADR). He has resigned after there was a strong debate in the office over its profit.

The office of chairman was directed by him since it has been established. It was constituted 16 years before. ICADR is a quasi-judicial body which aims in settling the disputes between multi-national corporations.  It reconciles all sorts of commercial disputes.

Raj Bhavan sources has stated that Bharadwaj was not present in the general body meeting of ICADR which was held in Delhi. Though he was in the capital on a private visit but he didn’t attend the meeting. An official has confirmed that Bharadwaj has resigned as the chairman of the ICDAR.

It was formed in the year 1995 and headquartered in Delhi; ICADR works under the guidance of the Union Law Ministry. It has its regional centres at Hyderabad and Bangalore. Bharadwaj has been criticized for holding two offices from various quarters and making the office of profit clause.
