Bhubaneswar, July 17 : Nine more dengue cases were confirmed in Odisha Wednesday, taking the number of those infected with the mosquito-borne disease in the state to 22 this year although no death has been reported so far, an official said.
Of the latest nine cases, highest five cases have been reported from Cuttack city, about 26 km from here. Jajpur reported two cases while Angul and Dhenkanal districts have both reported one each.
Bhubaneswar, Nov 26 : The dengue appears to be on a decline in Odisha with only two new cases reported in the state in the last two days, taking the total number of those affected by the disease to 2,196 this year, an official said Monday.
The latest two reported cases are one each from the districts of Ganjam and Kendrapada, a senior official of the state health control room told IANS.
Bhubaneswar, Nov 12 - Odisha Monday confirmed 10 more dengue cases, taking the number of those infected with the mosquito-borne disease to 1,930 in the state this year.
Out of the fresh 10 cases, three were reported from Khordha district and two from Puri district and one case each from Cuttack, Ganjam, Sambalpur, Bargarh and Angul districts, a health official told IANS.
Bhubaneswar, Nov 8 : Odisha has intensified health awareness campaign in tribal-populated Malkangiri district after at least 24 children died of unknown diseases in the region in recent months, an official said Thursday.
The awareness campaign was launched after the children between two and five years of age died in five villages of the district in September and October, chief district medical officer Sashibhushan Panda told IANS.

Bhubaneswar, Feb 4 - Odisha has banned the movement of poultry and related products from an area in the capital Bhubaneswar after a bird flu case surfaced in the city, an official said Saturday.
The state authorities had recently sent three poultry samples from the government-run Central Poultry Development Organisation (CPDO) to the High Security Animal Disease Laboratory (HSADL) in Bhopal after several chickens suddenly died.
Bhubaneswar, Jan 12 - Veterinarians and state officials Thursday began culling poultry birds in parts of Odisha's Khordha district after bird flu was detected in the area.
District Collector Roopa Mishra said the culling operation was started in Keranga area early morning and is likely to continue for a few days. "We will cover about eight villages today," Mishra told IANS.

Bhubaneswar, April 17: The Orissa government Saturday threatened to impose the Essential Services Maintenance Act (ESMA) and cancel the registration of government doctors if they went ahead with their proposed state-wide strike from Sunday.
"We will impose ESMA if the doctors go on with their proposed strike," Suresh Mohapatra, the health secretary said.
Bhubaneswar, Jan 29 - Two people have been admitted with swine flu symptoms in a hospital in Rourkela, an official said.
Another person died of suspected swine flu in Rourkela, a health official said Thursday evening.
"One person with respiratory problems died hours after he was admitted in the hospital. Since the patient had a travel history suspecting swine flu we have sent the swab samples for test," said P. K. Rath, superintendent of CMS Hospital of Rourkela.
