Hero Honda on a high

Hero-HondaAccording to the recently released quarterly results by the market leader Hero Honda for the fourth quarter in the Indian market, the company has exceeded its sales target and has posted a 49 per cent increase in its net profit at Rs 598.8 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2010.

While the overwhelming results took the back of the Government's fiscal stimulus, the availability of cheap financing and the low base effect from the previous fiscal, but the company has gained a supreme position that at the outset seems undisputed.

Be it the highest ever turnover and unit sales in a single quarter or the highest ever net profit, the company has certainly raised the bar for itself and also for the entire industry.

It may be noted here that the total unit sales by the company in the fourth quarter grew by 19 per cent to 11,86,536 units, while net sales rose 20 per cent to Rs 4,092.61 crore in the Indian market.

Anil Dua, Senior Vice-President, Sales and Marketing, Hero Honda said that with the strong growth momentum that the company is enjoying, it has been able to outdo the industry for the past three years and expect the same scenario to continue even in the times to come.
