Hike In Fuel Prices Will Affect The Common Man: Kerala CMProtesting against the increase in prices of petrol, Kerala Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan stated that there was no explanation in the increase and it was a great blow to the common man.

Responding to the Centre government's verdict to increase petro rates, the CM stated that the Centre was only trying to 'loot' the common man with this sudden increase.

The UPA administration had increased the petro price thrice within a period of one year and it was a real blow to the common man, who were already reeling under the steep price of necessary commodities.

As a consumer state, the impact of the price increase was going to be very bad.

Mr. Achuthandan also noted that if certain Oil firms were given the domination to take decision on rates, it would cause anarchy in India.

Finance Minister T M Thomas Issac also attacked at the Centre for the sharp increase of petroleum products.

He alleged that the UPA administration raise the price of petroleum products to aid the oil firms that which had a control.

Mr. Issac claimed that the increase in petrol price would only benefit private oil firms and damages the life of the common people.

Attacking at the Kirit Parikh Committee report, which suggested that fuel rates should be based on market, rather being subsidized heavily by the administration, Mr. Issac added that the increase was founded on the Parikh Committee report. (With Inputs from Agencies)
