HMIL strengthens i20 portfolio
Enriching its product bouquet Hyundai Motor India Ltd. (HMIL) on Wednesday added two new variants to its existing compact model i20. The new versions are priced between Rs. 4.52 lakh and Rs. 7.48 lakh.
HMIL also announced addition of new features to some of its existing i20 variants.
The new versions launched by the automaker were Era and Sportz. With the base model priced at Rs. 4.52 lakh Era has now replaced Magna (priced at 4.91 lakh for the base model) as the new entry level i20 model. Base model of the Sportz is priced at Rs. 5.32 lakh between Magna and the top-end model Asta, which costs up to Rs. 7.48 lakh.
H. W. Park, CEO and Managing Director of HMIL, said on the occasion that these variants target different audience groups with different needs to make it desirable for a broad base of customers.
The two new variants Era and Sportz would be available in petrol and diesel versions, the company unveiled.
As per the company's statement the new i20s would also have added features like manual transmission shift indicators in diesel variants and a gear change prompt to increase fuel efficiency.
