HMSI going high on exports
While it has already heated up the competition with its cousin, Hero Honda in the executive segment with the launch of the CB Twister, HMSI (the wholly owned subsidiary of Honda Motor Corporation) is going bullish on the exports as well to generate future growth for the company.
According to the sources in the company, HMSI is planning to raise its exports from 80,000 units last year to 110,000 units of motorcycles and scooters this fiscal.
Shinji Aoyama, HMSI president and chief executive officer said that the company has exported to around 50 countries in the period of eight years.
Aoyama further mentioned that the company does not only export to developing nations but also to the developed economies of Europe.
The company is expecting to sell nearly 15 lakh units in the current fiscal year that will be way up from the 12.7 lakh units of two-wheelers the company sold in 2009-10 in both domestic and exports market.
