Honda Canada to add more than 400 new jobs
It was announced on Tuesday by Honda Canada Inc. that it will reopen a second production shift in Alliston, Ontario, and add more than 400 jobs.
The expansion will take place early next year and increase daily output from 400 to 600 units per day, Manabu Nishimae, president and chief executive officer of Honda Canada, said in a news release.
Nishimae said, "We are pleased to be making this announcement as the Canadian economy continues to show signs of recovery."
The release further said that Honda has two plants in Alliston representing a $2.6 billion investment with capacity to produce 390,000 vehicles, and an engine plant that can produce up to 200,000 engines annually. (With Inputs from Agencies)
