Honda recalls Element and Odyssey

Honda-LogoAfter Toyota took a lot of heat on itself over the recalls, it is now the turn of its Japanese arch rival Honda to join the recall bandwagon once again. Honda has announced a recall of over 4,00,000 vehicles in the U. S. market after some consumer complaint of the pedal feeling 'soft'.

Out of the total recalls, the company has called back 344,000 Odyssey minivans and 68,000 Element crossover vehicles build in the 2007-2008 period.

It is believed that not necessarily all the units included in the recall should have this problem but to be on a safer side, the company is recalling the whole lot. The company expects to start contacting the consumers by the end of April and persuade them to visit an authorized dealer to get a check of their vehicle.

The consumers complained that the brake pedal falls closer to the floor as it is pushed to stop the car but the case with the affected units is that the problems get a little out of hand as time passes. Honda will also mail notifications to the users if their vehicle is included in the recall.
