Hooda assures speedy justice in Ruchika case

Bhupinder-Singh-HoodaHaryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda assured to expedite investigations into the Ruchika molestation case through a Special Investigation Team for speedy delivery of justice to the family of Ruchika who was molested by former Haryana police Chief SPS Rathore.

The CM said, "We have full sympathy with the family members of Ruchika. Special Investigation Team report is awaited. We will not spare the guilty." He said that newly formed SIT would look into the charges made by Ruchika's brother Ashu against former cop. Ashu added to the injuries of former DGP of Haryana adding that he made her sister to commit suicide.

Rathore, who served as a Haryana police DGP in 1999-2000, was earlier granted bail by a Haryana Court on Friday till January 7, 2009. Rathore was found guilty of molesting 15-year-old budding tennis player Ruchika on Aug 12, 1990 by CBI and sentenced to rigorous imprisonment of six months by special CBI Court on December 12. But he was immediately granted bail, causing much hue and cry in media.

The family alleged atrocities by Haryana Police against Ruchika's brother which implicating him in many false cases.
