HSCI rides smoothly through FY 2009-10 but via a rough March
Banking on successful models like Honda City, Jazz, Civic and Accord, Honda Siel Cars India ltd. has been able to get to the much-desired cushy position in the financial year of 2009-10. Notably, the company sold a whopping 61,815 units during the financial year April'09 - March'10 as against 52,420 units registering an increase of over 18% on a cumulative basis.
In fact, particularly for the month of March 2010, the company sold 5928 units during the month of March'10 as against 7368 units sold during the corresponding month last year going against the trend of the remaining automotive industry.
Almost all the other auto majors have registered a rise in their unit sales getting the most the upcoming price hike and the close of the financial year. The break-up for the HSCI's unit sales stood with Honda City leading the pack with 4,338 units followed by Civic at 742 units , Jazz took the third spot by banking 571 units and followed by Accord at 211 units and CR-V at 66 units.
Notably, the company also expanded its sales & distribution network in the country by expanding it to fiscal year 2009-10 to 117 facilities in 70 cities by adding 14 facilities in 10 cities.
