Hughes all set for spin challenge in India

Phillip-HughesSydney, Feb 12 : Australian cricketer Phillip Hughes believes he can replicate his form in India''s spin-friendly conditions, following a quiet chat with Michael Clarke.

After earning a recall to Australia''s Test side in Hobart last year, Hughes posted Test scores of 86 and 87 against Sri Lanka and then two one-day centuries against the tourists.

It prompted paceman Peter Siddle to label him one of the key men in the four-Test series, which starts in Chennai on February 22.

Hughes, who toured India with the Test team as a reserve batsman in 2010 but was never called on, said he feels "very confident" in his game at the moment, reports News. com. au.

Clarke, who notched a century on Test debut in India in 2004, has provided the 24-year-old with the right ideas as he looks to negate a spin attack that could feature Ravi Ashwin, Pragyan Ojha and Harbhajan Singh. Last year England became the first touring team to win a Test series in India since 2004, and Hughes said he''s been studying Alastair Cook''s side since. (ANI)
