ICICI launches 25 electronic branches across 18 India locations India's largest private sector bank ICICI Bank has announced the launch of a range of new technology initiatives to make banking even easier experience for customers.The new technological initiative includes the roll out of 25 electronic branches across eighteen locations in the country, and the launch of several internet-based banking services.

The ICICI electronic branches will offer cheque deposit machines for depositing checks, an interactive kiosk for facilitating internet banking services, a cash deposit machine with instant credit facility, and around-the-clock video conferencing with customer care personnel.

The electronic branches would function along with the bank's regular brick-&-motor branches.

The lender has also launched a new service called "tab banking," which allows users to open a bank account from the premises of home or office through a tablet equipped with mobile connectivity.

Chanda Kochhar, managing director and chief executive of ICICI, said, "We have always leveraged technology to make banking convenient and enhance the customer experience."

The ICICI electronic branches will be rolled out to more locations in India based on the response to the newly opened branches.
