Bangladesh raises fuel prices to offset lossesDhaka- At least four people were killed in a border flare- up Friday along Bangladesh's northwestern frontier with India, officials said.

The four included two soldiers of the Indian Border Security Force (BSF). The other victims in the latest exchange of gunfire near the Chapai-Nawabganj district were a Bangladeshi border guard and a civilian living on the border belt.

Both sides have blamed cross-border smugglers for inciting the bloody skirmish.

The fighting triggered tension between the paramilitary frontier police of the two countries prompting several flag meetings for peace between the local commanders of both forces.

Bangladesh and India share over 4,000 km of land boundary which is considered to be highly porous. (dpa)
