ING Vysya Bank to strengthen its foothold in the CountryING Vysya Bank, one of India’s leading private sector banks, is presently concentrating on retail banking and expansion plans to increase lender’s footprint across the country.

Yesterday, the bank has opened 11 ATM outlets in Hyderabad, including eight in the city. The other ATMs are located in Warangal, Khammam and Guntur.

During launching ceremony, ING Vysya said that its focus is on growing the bank's franchise and providing banking convenience 24/7 by strengthening its alternate delivery channels.

According to sources, Andhra Pradesh was a key market for the bank with 33% of its distribution. The bank's total business in the state stood at Rs 8,000 crore.

With latest opening, the bank will have a total of 176 branches and 66 ATMs spread across the Andhra Pradesh, its highest on both counts in any state.

Recently, the bank has received the RBI approval for opening 56 new branches and 100 ATMs.

Earlier this month, the bank announced an upward revision of interest rates on different maturities of domestic term deposits.

The bank has clocked a net profit of Rs 156.9 crore in the fiscal year 2008, the highest-ever in its history. The fee and other income registered a growth of over 49% to Rs 127.88 crore.

The bank expects a growth rate of 25% in advances, and 35% in deposits in the current fiscal.
