Jharkhand Police kills three kidnappers to save victim
Ranchi (Jharkhand), July 31: Jharkhand Police gunned down three suspected criminals and arrested three for kidnapping a 22-year-old boy in Ranchi on Friday.
Acting on a tip off, police raided several flats in a particular block of the Jagannathpur region and gunned down three kidnappers, who had kidnapped a boy named Luv Kumar Bhatia.
“We got information that he was kept in the block near Rajiv Dubey''s (a local) flat after being kidnapped. On receiving this information under the guidance of city Superintendent of Police, we raided the entire block. Then we came to know through a media person about the flat of Rajiv Dubey. And we got information that some suspected boys had been seen in the flat at night,” said Rajiv Ranjan, Deputy Superintendent of Police.
“When we came here, we found the door locked. And when police broke open the lock and entered there was firing from inside, in retaliation to which we also fired. And in that gunfire three criminals were shot down,” he added.
Police said that out of the three-arrested kidnapper two are from Ranchi and one is from Hazaribag region the state.
Police also said that the kidnappers belong to some prominent kidnapping gang who are involved in several other kidnappings in the state but refused to disclose the name.
Meanwhile, Luv Kumar Bhatia’s father Ashish Bhatia, who owns three restaurants said that he was delighted to have his son back and was thankful to the police authorities for saving his son.
“I am very happy and I want to thank the entire police team of Ranchi as because of their hard work since yesterday night my son has returned home safely,” said Ashish Bhatia.
The reason behind the kidnapping is not yet known, but police suspect that it was done for ransom. (ANI)
