Jharkhand will get a developmental government: Gadkari

Jharkhand will get a developmental government: GadkariMumbai, Dec 28 : Notwithstanding some opposition in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to the decision to support the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) in Jharkhand, BJP president Nitin Gadkari Monday said the alliance would give a "development oriented" government to the state.

"The oath taking ceremony will take place Wednesday. Jharkhand will get a development oriented government," Gadkari told reporters here.

JMM chief Shibu Soren Monday reached Mumbai to meet Gadkari.

"They will get a government with clear image. We will have a common programme. I wish him (Shibu Soren) well," Gadkari added.

Soren will be sworn in as Jharkhand chief minister for the third time Wednesday in Ranchi. He Saturday staked claim to forming the government with a list of 45 legislators supporting him in the 81-member house.

He is being supported by the BJP, All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU), Janata Dal-United (JD-U) and two independent legislators. The BJP and JMM have 18 legislators each, AJSU has five and JD-U has two.

As per their understanding, BJP will have four ministers, JMM and AJSU three each and JD-U one. In Jharkhand, there can be a maximum 12 ministers including the chief minister.(IANS)
