Mohammad Kaif has smashed a brilliant unbeaten double hundred as Central Zone declared their first inning with 480 runs on the board for loss of 8 wickets against East Zone on the third day of the test match in the Duleep Trophy at the Gandhi sports Complex ground in Amritsar on Thursday.

Central Zone resumed their inning from overnight score of 367 runs for loss of five wickets. Kaif continued his brilliant inning and completed his first ever double century in the first class cricket. Kaif scored unbeaten 202 runs in 336 balls.

A Dinda was most successful bowler for East Zone who picked up three wickets while R Bose and D Goswami took two wickets each. S Lahiri also chipped in with one wicket.

East Zone got to a bad start as they lost their first wicket with just 62 runs on the board. Sanjay Bangar showed the way of pavilion to S Jadhav (28). Ease Zone scored 64 runs for loss of one wicket at the close of play on the third day of the test match.
