Kambli to begin a new innings

Former crickets slams Vinod Kambli Yet another former Indian cricketer has made it big by entering the filed of politics.

Former India player Vinod Kambli on Thursday filed his nomination to contest the forthcoming assembly polls in Maharashtra.

7-year-old Kambli had filed his nomination papers from Vikhroli constituency.

The former left-handed-batsman traveled in a local train from Sion to Vikhroli to file his nomination along with supporters.

Speaking on this, Kambli said: “If you see my journey started from the train in 1985. I used to go for cricket matches in the train. So I decided to start my second innings also from the train. I am travelling in a train after maybe 12-15 years.”

According to Kambli, he would mainly focus to improve the level of education, health and sports in his constituency.

Kambli is fighting these elections on a Lok Bharati Party ticket.

Notably, the Samajwadi Party, Republican Party of India, Janata Dal and other Left parties (all part of third front in Maharashtra) have expressed their support to the former Indian player.

The cricketer-turned-politician had played 17 Tests and 104 ODIs for India.
