A Raja’s residence was raided by the CBI a few days ago with respect to the investigations of the 2G scam. The DMK patriarch M Karunanidhi was in a fix as he had been supporting him through the series of events as he has pressures from 2 sides in his family union minister MK Alagiri and deputy chief MK Stalin -and brothers Kalanidhi and Dayanidhi Maran.

He initially quoted that A Raja would be appropriately punished if he was found guilty but also maintained his previous statement where he had defended Raja by saying that he was innocent, and has done nothing wrong; their support was still with him.

A Raja has said that he will be cooperating with the CBI. He met DMK chief M Karaunanidhi at his residence in Chennai on Saturday, with regard to the probe of multi crore 2G scam.

DMK has now given indications of distancing itself from, the former telecom minister who is facing allegations of selling the spectrum at almost free prices, to save its reputation ahead of the elections.
