Man held in Italy for exploiting prostitute

Naples, May 24 - A man was arrested in the southern Italian city of Naples on suspicion that he was "exploiting" a Romanian prostitute on the pretext of regularly driving her to work.

In exchange for the lift to the eastern Poggioreale district, the 28-year-old Romanian woman allegedly had to pay the man a "fare" of 20 euros and also have sex with him, police said.

Naples, May 7 - Anti-mafia police in Italy have arrested 32 people suspected of trafficking waste illegally in the southern Campania region.

The suspects are allegedly linked to the Naples mafia or Camorra and had divided up the illegal waste trafficking business in Naples, Caserta, Benevento and Avellino, police said.

The arrests followed an investigation that began in December 2011.
