Logan now selling on discount
While there is still speculations around the Mahindra Renault JV, the dealers of the company has already started offering decent discounts on Logan, the mid-level sedan in the country. The dealers are giving a discount of almost 18,000-50,000 on the product.
Notably, Logan hasn't been able to hit at the right spot in the market. The product sold just 4,981 units in the April-February period of 2009-10, down 60.03% from the year-ago period.
The discounts are on the door as the dealers are not sure about the future of the JV among the two companies. Renault's chief Carlos Ghosn has recently said that he will come out with the future of the JV during his next visit to India for the inauguration of Nissan Plant.
The event is expected to take place on Wednesday. The dealers are offering roughly a discount of Rs. 18,000 on the Diesel variant and Rs. 50,000 on the Petrol variant. Both Mahindra and Renault had earlier asked for a time frame of 30-45 days to design an appropriate roadmap for the future of the deal.
