Mamata asks Congress to reconsider alliance

Mamata asks Congress to reconsider allianceMamata Banerjee, the chief minister of West Bengal and the leader of Trinamool Congress has asked its partner Congress party to decide if it wants to stay in alliance or not, after Youth Congress protested against alleged attacks by activists linked to Trinamool.

She said that the Congress party should reconsider if it wants to continue the alliance in the centre and state level. She also affirmed that her government in the sate is not dependent on the support from the Sonia Gandhi led Congress Party.

"It is for the Congress to decide whether to support Trinamool or extend indirect support to Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPM). It will be sorted out because this thing cannot go hand in hand," said Banerjee.

She accused the congress party of secretly extending support to the CPM and said that it has done so one before. She also added that her party is not keen on partnering a political party that extends support to the CPM.

Banerjee pointed that some of the leaders from the congress party have been `abusing us everyday', adding that her party can also report to such things but it does not believe in indecency in coalition politics.

The Youth Congress had organized a protest rally against alleged violence by Trinamool Congress activists on them in the state.
