Maruti’s March 2010 sales rise 11%

Maruti-Suzuki-LogoIndia's largest automaker, Maruti Suzuki has filed an 11% rise in the March 2010 sales on a YoY basis. With the total sales standing at 95,123 vehicles in March 2010, the company has been able to close the financial on a new milestone of selling over one million units in the fiscal.

However, the QoQ sales fell by a marginal 2% but the company expects the coming months to be more successful for the automaker in the Indian market.

Notably, the success that the company is enjoying is more because of the success that models like Swift, Dzire, Eeco and Alto are gaining from the Indian market. In fact, Alto sells over 20,000 units in the domestic market on an average becoming the flagship model for the automaker in the country.

But as the BS-IV norms come into play, Maruti Suzuki will not be selling its much-popular 800 in the 13 major cities of the Indian market. Moreover, it might have taken over 25 years for the company to touch the one-million mark but experts believe the race to next million will be on a highway in the Indian market.
