Mercedes launches GL350 CDI in India

Mercedes-GL350-CDIThe New GL 350 CDI BlueEfficiency is Mercedes' answer to its counterparts Audi and BMW to regain the lost ground in the SUV segment. Priced at Rs. 63.57 lakhs (ex-showroom, Mumbai), the company is trying to strengthen its position in the SUV segment where it normally lags behind the competition.

Wilfried Aulbur, CEO, Mercedes-Benz India claimed the product to be way above the competition with respect to its various features and aspects. Aulbur further added the fact that the product is the most luxurious SUV in this segment. While Audi and BMW have been able to gain ground in the SUV segment with its wide range of products i. e. X3, X5 and X6 for BMW India and Q5, Q7 for Audi India which stood very tall over the past months in front of Mercedes' M-Class.

However, with a view to retain its leadership position in the market, the company has been launching various products. "Gaining market leadership means selling more units of Mercedes cars in India and by selling more units we are making the brand more common, hence we are only focusing at a profitable growth," defends Debashish Mitra, Head -Marketing, Mercedes-Benz India.
