Metro construction must speed up in Bangalore, GovernorHans Raj Bhardwaj, the Governor of Karnataka has said that the construction work on the Bangalore Metro project must speed up to avoid continuing inconvenience to the residents of the south Indian mega city.

He said that the state government in the Karnataka is required to make improvements to the construction work. He was speaking at an event to release the South India Tourism Directory prepared by the Federation of Karnataka Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He said that the slow pace of Namma Metro us an injustice to the people of Bangalore.

"On the Mysore Road, there is a crane hanging over your head and it takes over an hour to cross that small stretch of road. Government should speed up the process and not let this prolong causing inconvenience to people," he said.

He also targeted the previous government for not using the state's cultural heritage to promote tourism in the state. Minister for higher education, RV Deshpande, and FKCCI president, Shiva Shanmugam were also present at the event that was held on Monday. He pointed out that infrastructure was a crucial part in tourism in the state.
