Mini MPVs are the new love for carmakers

Mini-MPVAt a time when many experts are talking about the increasing competition in the Indian small car market, the carmakers are firming up plans to gain ground in the Mini MPV market that it expected to drive growth for many automobile companies in the Indian market in the coming times.

A slew of automakers such as Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, Toyota, Nissan and Ford are trying to capitalise on the opportunity that was unexplored for a very long time.

Though, the market leader Maruti Suzuki has made a lot of noise with its Eeco, it is believed that there is still enough scope in the category to be capitalised upon.

It may be noted here that Mini MPVs are the products that aimed to do a job of people carriers resembling smaller vans with an increased interior room.

In fact, it has been learned that several auto majors across the country are weighing options of either launching all-new vehicles in the mini MPV category or developing them on an existing platform. It is believed that the global market leader may build a MPV out of its Etios platform on which its small car is based.
