M&M recalls top brass from the Renault’s JV
Though, both the parties i. e. Renault and Mahindra have kept a diplomatic silence on the troubles that their JV Mahindra Renault Private Ltd. is facing, but the home-grown conglomerate has now started to recall various top-level employees working in the JV to various other posts within the Group.
For instance, Nalin Mehta, the ex-CEO of Mahindra Renault has been appointed as the new COO of Mahindra Navistar, the CV arm of the Mahindra Group. Moreover, two other employees including Jyoti Malhotra, the head of sales, and K Ravi, Head - after sales & services, have also returned to M&M.
The JV with Renault never took off for both the parties. While Logan has seen the sales coming down to 500 units from the 2,000 unit levels both the parties have promised to come up with the future of the JV by the end of this month.
While Renault has already established partnership with Bajaj Auto for its ultra low-cost car project, it is believed that the JV will finally be called off. It is believed that M&M wants a higher say in the engineering aspect which the French automaker is in no mood to play with.
