Indian automaker, Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M), which is also the maker of India's largest sports utility vehicles, has been sued by its US distributor.

The firm, Global Vehicles (GV), has filed a case wherein it has accused M&M of not been able to launch Scorpio in the region on time.

The lawsuit was filed with the Atlanta District Court where GV has alleged that M&M has missed the deadline by miles. It said that in the past too, the launch has been postponed. In all, there have been two postponements.

GV has asked the court to stop M&M from selling its vehicles through any other distributor and/or dealer in the US. The firm also said that it has spent close to $35 million in preparing itself for the launch.

Mahindra has also signed 350 other dealers in the US, who have together spent close to $60 million for buying the franchisee and the rights to sell Scorpio and other M&M vehicles.

Talking about this, the spokesperson of M&M said that it was committed to US market and will soon be launching the pick-up trucks along with Scorpio.
