Motherson Sumi eyes expansion

Motherson Sumi eyes expansionAs the company has recently posted over-whelming numbers as far as the first quarter for the fiscal is concerned, it is still up on its toes to ensure that it is able to maintain the growth level for the entire year as well.

G. N. Gauba, chief financial officer, Motherson Sumi recently said that the company is expanding its capacity in line with customers coming to India as well as (to service orders received by European unit) SMR.

While the plants will be set up in Chennai, Bangalore and Pune in India and Hungary in Europe, the CFO of the firm also said that the funding will mostly be done through internal accruals.

It is believed that the amount of investment will be somewhere around the Rs. 4-5 billion mark. Pankaj K Mital, COO of the company said that it hasn't seen much impact (from the removal of incentives in Europe) and it is prepared for any kind of eventuality in the European market.

However, a host of other auto majors like Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai are expecting a fall in the export numbers to Europe in this fiscal.
