Motorola’s Android 2.1 upgrade for Milestone released

The upgrade for Motorola’s flagship Android smartphone, the Milestone boasts of its latest upgradation, the v2.1 of the operating system.

This proclamation was first reported from the current popular trend for publicity Facebook, where it was seen posted, "We hope you enjoy enhancements such Speech to Text, live wallpapers, up to nine home screens, and added security for Microsoft Exchange server users".

The update termed as Eclair, is considered by Google as a mini update prior to Froyo that came out later this month for the same.

The patrons of Milestone need to download the firmware update from Motorola’s support site and have a hands-on the update. For the ones who wish for an over-the-air upgrade process will have to wait for the next 48 hours or so.

The trade gurus when compared this to other updates seemed to strike fast than HTC or Sony Ericsson. The first one has caused a delay in launch of v2.1 for HTC Hero smartphone several times, whereas Sony Ericsson seeks to upgrade the X10 family from v1.6 to v2.1 towards the end of the year.
