Mukesh Ambani had a net worth of $21 billion, according to this year's Forbes India list. Even as the total worth of the billionaire has fallen for the third straight year, he has maintained his top position on the list as the richest Indian for half a decade.

Ambani was able to surpass London-based steel baron Lakshmi Mittal and Wipro Chairman Azim Premji to continue to lead the richest club of Indians. The estimates show that the combined wealth of the richest 100 Indians rose 3.7 percent to a total of $250 billion.

Pallonji Mistry, Adi Godrej, Savitri Jindal, Shashi and Ravi Ruia, Hinduja Brothers and Kumar Mangalam Birla were among the top ten richest Indians this year. Dilip Sanghvi is a new comer on the list with a net worth of $9.2 billion due to his shares in Sun Pharmaceuticals Industries.

The list showed that the country now has a total of 61 billionaires with four new ones this year.
