Mumbai felicitates its women of subsistence

Mumbai, Feb 27:Kelvinator GR8 Women Awards 2008 Twenty five women achievers, including corporate heads and members in the medical and cinematic professions were felicitated at The Kelvinator GR8! Women Awards in Mumbai on Tuesday.

This year’s theme focussed on putting a check on female foeticide. A national awareness campaign named 'Beti' (Girl) was launched on the occasion to highlight gender bias in the country.

Actress Preity Zinta, who won the Gr8 Special Laurel Award said: "It feels fantastic to get an award which is not film oriented. My message to all women is live life queen size."

Actress, Aruna Irani said, it was a wonderful feeling to see women being respected, as such was not the case in the past.

“I feel good and very proud," Irani said. (ANI)
