NEC Opens New Biometrics Excellence Centre In IndiaWith the intention to widen its R & D footprints to new locations, NEC India, a part of $43 billion NEC Corporation has unveiled its first 'NEC Biometrics Excellence Centre' in Bangalore.

The move from the Japanese IT and network technologies major comes after the country's moneymaking market for biometric solutions that has been increasingly in use in the administration and the Unique Identity Project all set for its execution.

The newly opened center would offer up top-notch engineering competency to fulfill the needs of the company's global chain involved in development and support of identity solutions for global market.

While speaking to media, Kris Ranganath, CTO of NEC Corporation (Government and Public Global Solutions) stated that the Indian center was the seventh R & D center for NEC and it would run under the guidance of the main R and D center in Japan.

Mr. Ranganath stated that the country offered a vast market for NEC in biometrics as the market, which was still in emerging stage, was projected to go up by over 250%by 2013, and the UID project would lead this growth. (With Inputs from Agencies)
