Indian ace shuttler Saina Nehwal has advanced to the semifinals of women's single event of the Indonesian Open Super Series at Jakarta on Friday.

World no 8, Saina has defeated 18th ranked Hye Youn Hwang of Korea by 21-7 13-21 21-15 in women's singles quarter-final which lasted for 45 minutes.

Saina, who has been seeded sixth in the tournament, won first set easily but in the second set Hwang played well and won the second the set by 21-13.

In third and last set, it was tough competition for Saina as she was lagging behind by 5-8 but she came back strongly and scored five straight points through smashes to take lead by 10-8 and won the set by 21-15.

Saina had made in quarterfinals after defeating Juliane Schenk of Germany by 18-21 21-7 21-19 I the pre-quarterfinal and Lu defeated second-seeded Yihan Wang in the other quarter-final match.
