Pina Bausch dance company to be led by Mercy and Sturm
Wuppertal, Germany - The German dance company led by the late Pina Bausch is to be directed in future by Dominique Mercy and Robert Sturm, the Wuppertal Dance Theatre announced Monday.
Both men have been part of the company for many years. Mercy joined it as a dancer in 1973 and Sturm was her assistant over many years. Bausch, one of the world's top contemporary choreographers, died in June of cancer.
Her son, Salomon Bausch, now holds 5 per cent of the shares in the company and the German city of Wuppertal holds the other 95 per cent. (dpa)
