Lahore’s Krishna Temple organises grand prayer meet
Lahore, Mar 10: Pakistani Hindus organised a grand prayer meet at the Krishna temple here on Sunday.
The event was organised to celebrate the arrival of three idols presented by East Punjab Health Minister Lakshmi Kant Chawla and other Hindu leaders from Delhi and Ludhiana.
A delegation of 173 Indian pilgrims were present on the occasion.
Inter-Religious Peace Council Chairperson Jacqueline Tressler, Temple Central Secretary Dr. Munawar Chand and Committee members Sunil Kumar and Sunny Kumar, welcomed the guests.
"This is my fourth visit to Pakistan, especially to the Katasraj Temples. We bring love and good wishes to Pakistanis and hope that we will return with the same gifts," the Daily Times quoted Sanjeet Sundaish Goswami, a leader of the pilgrims, as saying.
"The Health Minister could not visit Pakistan this year. However, she has sent me with the idol of 'Sheran Wali Maa' for the Krishna Temple," Rakesh Sharma, Chawla's personal assistant, said.
The pilgrims thanked the Pakistan Government for providing them with accommodation and security. (ANI)
