Facebook All Set To Launch ‘Zero’ Version For Cell Phone Users
Social networking site Facebook has made announcement about the formation of its novel site "Zero", which is a low-bandwidth and text-only edition for handset users.
Facebook disclosed important details regarding its new site at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
In a declaration, the company stated that the new site, which "omits data intensive applications like photos", would be introduced shortly.
Analysts at CCS Insight stated that Facebook Zero could assist operators free-up substantial bandwidth on their respective networks.
A representative for the company stated, "We are discussing it... as an option to make Facebook on the mobile web available to everyone, anywhere and allow operators to encourage more mobile internet usage." (With Input from Agencies)
