Fashion Designer Rohit Bal Recovering Well After AngioplastyAce fashion designer Rohit Bal, who had a massive heart attack and gone through angioplasty, is on the road to recovery at the Medanta Medicity in Gurgaon.

The 42-year-old Bal suffered a coronary failure on Tuesday at his Defense Colony residence and was initially taken to Aashlok Hospital in Safdarjung Enclave in South Delhi.

Afterward, Rohit was shifted to Medanta, where he had to go thru angioplasty, a technique used for mechanically extending a constricted or blocked blood vessel.

Medicity's chairman Naresh Trehan, who is a famous cardiovascular and cardiothoracic surgeon, said that Rohit's physical condition is bettering.

Dr. Trehan said, "He is recovering well. It is too early to talk about his exact condition. He will be kept under medical observation for a minimum of two-three days."

"He suffered a heart attack. So many people get it every day. There is no such special reason," the chairman added.

Dr. Trehan, however, entioned that Bal's family record showed they are very prone to coronary failures and hence he was "vulnerable" to it.

Bal, who is also known as 'Gudda' in the fashion business, has been described as maestro of fabric and fantasy.

Aside from designing for many celebs from the Hindi film industry, Rohit also has international customers including Uma Thurman, Cindy Crawford, Pamela Anderson, Naomi Campbell and Anna Kournikova. (With Input from Agencies)
