Manappuram net profit at Rs 120 croreGold loan major Manappuram General Finance and Leasing has announced its annual financial results for the fiscal year 2009-10 and has posted an impressive net profit. The company has registered a annual net profit of Rs
119.72 crore for the year that ended on 31st March, 2010. It was reported to be Rs 30.30 crore for last year.

This net profit figure has grown up by almost four fold as compared to the preceding year. Chairman of the company, Mr. VP Nandakumar has informed that the income from services of the firm has touched Rs 469.98 crore in the year 2009-10. Last year it was reported to be Rs 160.52 crore.

The profit after tax stood at Rs 181.82 crore in the year under review as compared to Rs 46.28 crore the previous year. Nandakumar has also informed that the current figure comprises both the combined entities of Manappuram Finance Tamil Nadu and Manappuram General Finance and Leasing. As per the chairman, the firm has set up a very strong ground in the market and has become a leading player in the country in gold loans.
