India to feature in top 10 priority markets for GM by 2011After receiving an overwhelming response to products like the Beat and Spark in the Indian market, GM India is of a view that the Indian market will become a part f the top 10 priority list for the Detroit giant by the year 2011.

General Motors (GM) China Group President and Managing Director Kevin E Wale said that the Indian market will become one of the top 10 priority markets for GM globally and he'll be really surprised if it doesn't happen.

Notably, the total sales of the company in India stood at 69,579 units and the company is confident of crossing the 1 lakh units tag by the end of the current year.

For now, GM's biggest market is on the American turf selling close to 2 million units followed by the Chinese market that sell around 1.8 million units.

However, after getting high numbers in the Indian market with the Beat, a product that was launched by the company at the auto expo this year coupled with the upcoming products in alliance with SAIC, it is believed that the Indian market will only get more vital for GM.
