SAD has every right to participate in DSGMC’s affairs: Badal

SAD has every right to participate in DSGMC’s affairs: BadalReacting to Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit's suggestion that Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) should keep off Delhi gurdwaras' matters, SAD leader and Punjab Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal has justified his party's meddling in DSGMC's affairs.

Badal said they had the right to meddle in matters of DSGMC because SAD had fought amd made sacrifices during gurdwara reforms movement following which SGPC and DSGMC were formed.

Speaking on the topic, Badal said, "SAD has every right to participate in the affairs of the DSGMC. Rather Delhi CM should not forget that SAD was contesting the DSGMC elections ever since its inception."

The Punjab Chief Minister also argued that before questioning the role of SAD in the DSGMC's affairs, the Delhi Chief Minister should explain the validation of the move of amending the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Act, 1971, which was enacted by Parliament.

The war of words between the chief ministers of Delhi and Punjab started after clash between the supporters of SGPC and DSGMC at Rakabganj Gurdwara.

Responding to Badal's allegations that that Congress was interfering in Sikh affairs, Punjab Congress President Captain Amarinder Singh said that Badal had remained in capable of taking control of affairs in his Punjab and thus he was trying to meddle in other states.
