Cairo  - Up to 15 foreign tourists, including a number of Italians and possibly also Israelis, have been kidnapped in Egypt, the television broadcaster Al-Arabiya reported Monday.

The report - which has yet to be confirmed by Egyptian officials - said that between 10 and 15 tourists were seized in the Upper Egyptian city of Aswan.

Among those kidnapped were five Italians, while others mave been Israeli nationals, the report said. Further details were not immediately available. (dpa)
