Orissa Govt Aims To Include HIV-AIDS Affected Peole In BPL ListOrissa Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has announced an innovative plan where he said his administration is eyeing to take in HIV/AIDS affected persons of the State in the forthcoming BPL list.

The CM stated that his administration is taking active steps to assist AIDS-affected people as well as their family members to live normal life.

He added that this while welcoming the AIDS campaigner Red Ribbon Express (RRE) at Mancheswar Railway station amidst blowing of conch and other musical instruments by cultural troupes.

While addressing the crowd, Finance Minister Prafulla Chandra Ghadai stated that until today 1,150 individuals have been died in the state from the deadly disease and 16,733 have remained affected with the illness.

Stating that Orissa is a low prevalence State with less than 1% of AIDS patients in India, The Joint Director of NACO Manyank Agrawal valued Orissa administration for taking lots of actions for the AIDS affected people.

He also called upon voluntary officials to create alertness during its two days stay on May 9 and 10. (With Inputs from Agencies)
