Pak Governments always used accountability as a weapon of vengeance: Mushahid

Lahore, Dec 20: Mushahid Hussain Syed, Secretary General of the Pakistan Muslim League (Quaid)Accountability in Pakistan had always been used as a weapon of vengeance, said Mushahid Hussain Syed, Secretary General of the Pakistan Muslim League (Quaid).

He further said that neither his party’s government nor the previous governments held genuine accountability.

Mushahid admitted that cases against the Sharif brothers and former premier Benazir Bhutto were politically motivated.

"Most of the cases against these leaders are politically motivated, except some corruption cases against Benazir, " he said.

Mushahid added that the National Accountability Bureau should not be under the government’s control.

It (NAB) should be controlled by the Parliament, the Daily Times quoted Mushahid, as saying.

Terming the government’s decision to impose emergency on November 3 as "unfortunate and a mistake", he said that he and some of his party leaders had opposed the move. (ANI)
