Pak lawyers continue strike on second consecutive day
Lahore, Feb 12: Pakistani lawyers on Tuesday continued their countrywide boycott of courts to pressurise President Pervez Musharraf to revoke the suspension of senior judges.
Lawyers in Lahore raised slogans outside the Lahore High Court and witnessing the chaos and commotion outside the court, the court registrar called in police.
The LHC premises have been surrounded by heavy number of policemen.
The Musharraf regime had suspended these judges during a state of emergency over three months ago.
The Pakistan Bar Council (PBC) has announced a total boycott of the whole judiciary till February 18.
"We demand restoration of the judiciary. It is a single point demand to restore the judiciary as it was on November 2," Qazi Mohammed Anwar, chairman of the council's executive committee had demanded. (ANI)
